Designed to combat aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines and uneven pigmentation, our retinoid serum offers a uniquely stable and non-irritating retinoid. We have combined it with squalane to provide maximum efficacy without causing dryness or irritation, even with nightly use.
Retinoids are potent anti-aging agents because they increase procollagen synthesis and cell differentiation, inhibit melanogenesis, decrease activity of pre-cancerous cells and reduce microcomedones (clogged pores).¹ We use hydroxypinacolone retinoate (HPR) in our anti-aging formula. HPR is more active (as measured in DNA gene transcription and procollagen production), less irritating, and more stable than other non-prescription retinoids. In fact, an in-vitro study found that the pro-collagen synthesis of HPR was equivalent to that of prescription tretinoin (all-trans retinoic acid).2 Additionally, clinical testing found that even at 10X the concentration of other retinoids, HPR was less irritating.² Further, in studies comparing various retinoid formulations, HPR outperformed other retinoids in stability measures like temperature and shelf-life.³
We add squalane to our retinoid formulation, a powerful emollient that increases cell turnover, improves skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and enhances the skin barrier.

I have sensitive skin. I can use it every night. Doesn’t irritate me or make my skin flakey. It works well!! Good job! Now come out with spf moisturizer or tinted moisturizer
I love the texture of this retinoid! It is not irritating and perfect not just for my face but also my neck, chest and the backs of my hands! I've already gone through several bottles!
I like the fact that I have no irritation from the product. I use it consistently every morning followed by sunscreen. I’m not sure I see any anti-aging results.
I decided to give it a shot to the Retinoid since I love the cleanser so much. The bottle is very small for the price so hopefully this retinoid is not too harsh on my skin
First retinoid i’ve tried that did not irritate my old, dry skin. Been using continuously for a few months and notice a softening of skin and less deep wrinkling.

I absolutely love this retinoid serum! As someone with very reactive, I've always been hesitant to try retinoids in the past due to the potential for irritation. I have not experienced any redness, peeling or irritation with R, even with nightly use. I'm noticing improvements in texture and more even tone.
The original was fantastic. I have tons of contact allergies and finally found actives my skin could tolerate. Unfortunately since the product change I can no longer use the Retinoid. I’m not sure what ingredient I’m reacting to, but I wish the original formula was still available.
HPR doesn't irritate my skin like retinol does, but I wish your product didn't have a prominent odor of aloe and other botanicals. It reminds me of bright green 1970s shampoo. While these plants might connote skin health to some, those of us who use retinoids are doing it because there's evidence that it works. People who like scented products probably use cologne, perfume, or scented night cream. These scents are out of place in a retinoid lotion. When I find a fragrance-free HPR product I'll switch to it.
I love your products! my only issue is they come in breakable glass. I recently had 6 stitches on my foot bc the cleanser slipped out of my hand in the shower and shattered on my foot. any other packaging you could use? besides that, I love everything about the vetted products
This is a great product for my sensitive skin! It makes my face feel super soft and it doesn't cause any redness or irritation whatsoever. My only complaint is that the bottle is quite small, however, a little bit goes a long way.
My sensitive/ combination skin responds well! My complexion is also post menopausal with an oily t- zone, dry cheeks prone to redness. This product is something I trust - I actually trust ALL Vetted products. They’ve taken my complexion from a reactive & highly sensitive place, to a place of calm - within a day or two with each product I use. I apply the retinoid using the sandwich method: at night, after cleansing with Vetted C cleanser, i 1st apply Korean CELIMAX milky toner, and then Prequel Quench Serum, then the Vetted Retinoid after skin has dried for 15 mins after serums. Then I wait again for retinoid absorption & apply Vetted M2 moisturizer as an occlusive. I use the Vetted Retinoid 2ce a week. Thanks Vetted!
